OBITUARY: Patsy ‘Patty’ Ann (Johnson) Jackson
Patsy “Patty” Ann (Johnson) Jackson born June 5, 1955, died at home surrounded by her family on July 16, 2024. She is preceded in death by Carl and Florence Johnson. She is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 52 years, Jimmy, one daughter, Holly (Ryan) Brady, And one son, Cory (Diana) Jackson. She was “Nanny” to Victoria, Devin (Hailey), Caleb and Chloe Riley, and Reygan, Cooper and Elijah Jackson and “G-ma” to Easton, Cheyenne, Raiden, Charlotte and Nazjir, who all survive.

Dennis Bruce DeBlock, age 71 of Dickson, Tennessee, a man of immeasurable spirit and generous heart, embarks on his final adventure, having left us on July 19, 2024. Born in Detroit, Michigan on June 1, 1953, Dennis was a shining example of dedication and commitment. His life bore the testament of an adventurous soul, who always sought the thrill of living on the edge, while maintaining a steadfast commitment to his community and loved ones.

The Tennessee Titans announced seven recent hires to the football staff and an additional 13 promotions. The new hires include A.J. Highsmith as Director of Scouting, Sam Summerville as Senior National Scout, Leland Taylor as Director of Football Administration, Joey Glennon as Video Director, Erin Psajdl Davis as Football Data Analyst, Alex Rogers as Football Data Analyst and Keenan Agnew as a Scouting Assistant.

UPDATE JULY 21, 2024: Braze Rucker, sought in connection to the shooting of TN Highway Patrol Trooper Adam Cothron was found in Princeton, Kentucky and is in custody, reports TBI. Two Suspects Wanted in Connection to Highway Patrol Trooper Shooting in Putnam County
Authorities are searching for two suspects who are wanted in connection to the shooting of Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) Trooper Adam Cothron in Cookeville on July 19th. Authorities have identified one of the suspects as 29-year-old Braze Rucker and THP is offering a $10,000 award for information leading to the arrest of Rucker. Authorities are still trying to identify the second suspect.

Robert’s Western World to Celebrate 25 Years With Block Party
On August 5th, Robert’s Western World, known as Nashville’s Home of Traditional Country Music, will celebrate its 25th year under the proprietorship of JesseLee Jones, the leader of its house band, Brazilbilly. Robert’s is taking over the stretch of Lower Broadway between Fourth and Fifth Avenues just outside of the venue for a block party. Tennessee Tech Sets All-Time Record for Research Funding, Topping $46 Million for Fiscal Year 2024
Tennessee Tech University set an all-time record for externally funded research for the fourth year in a row, according to university administrators. The university topped $46 million in externally funded research in fiscal year 2024, supported by nearly 200 research activations. The total figure for the fiscal year, which ended June 30, surpasses Tech’s previous record by $10 million and marks the achievement of one of the university’s long-held strategic goals a year ahead of schedule.

Owner of Olive Garden and Longhorn Steakhouse to Acquire Chuy’s
Darden Restaurants, Inc. and Chuy’s Holdings, Inc. jointly announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement where Darden will acquire all of the outstanding shares of Chuy’s for $37.50 per share, in an all-cash transaction with an enterprise value of approximately $605 million.
