SEEDS program granted nearly $2 million for Marion, Mesick students
A program that benefits students in the Mesick Consolidated Schools and Marion Public Schools recently learned it has been funded through state grants for the next five years. SEEDS EcoSchool, a program of SEEDS Ecology and Education Centers, was awarded $1,975,000 in grant funding from the Michigan Department of Education in collaboration with the Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential to continue its out-of-school-time programs in the two Northern Michigan districts. Funded schools include Marion Elementary School, Marion Middle School and Floyd M. Jewett Elementary School in Mesick.
