JASPER COUNTY EXTENSION OFFERING HUNTER SAFETY COURSE
(NEWTON) The Jasper County Extension is sponsoring a Hunter Safety course next month at the Latona Church of Christ, south of Wheeler, set for Friday night, August 16th, from 6:00 to 9:00, and the following day, on Saturday, August 17th, from 8:00 to 4:00. It’s a chance to learn, free of charge, the basic principles of safe hunting thru the State Department of Natural Resources program, as state law requires all hunters born on or after January 1st, 1980, to successfully complete such a course before they can receive a hunting license. It also includes a free lunch on Saturday, provided by White Tails Unlimited, the Embarras Eagles Chapter, plus participants have a chance to win a youth bow and a crossbow donated by the Embarras Eagles Chapter.
