DILLSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — They don’t do it to get attention but we heard about incredible work some local volunteers are doing – and we checked it out.

These are members of Mount Pleasant Church of God in Dillsburg, they are spending all week with volunteers from other churches – fixing up other people’s homes.

abc27 News caught up with them while they were working on Susan Martin’s house.

“They’ve put two doors on the back of my house,” Martin said. “They took down trees that were ready to fall down. They’re taking out bushes that are overgrown. Just it’s just been a blessing.”

“It’s an opportunity going into our community and serve, our neighbors and witness to our neighbors and just, you know, just be the hands and feet of Jesus doing the work that’s needed in our community,” Mission On the Mountain coordinator Steve Smith said.

The volunteers took a week of vacation, off their jobs, to help people who can’t do the work on their own.
