This summer, work crews replaced the roof over the student rooms between pavilions VI and VIII, a structure that encapsulates the historic fabric of the original Jeffersonian roofs. When Thomas Jefferson designed UVA’s Academical Village, he envisioned flat roofs over the student rooms, so he designed an angled, serrated roof topped with a flat deck. The water was supposed to run through the deck boards and into the tin-lined valleys of the wood-serrated roofs before running off onto the ground.

South Boston Woman Arrested for Assault after Stabbing Incident, Faces Arraignment and Active Warrants
South Boston was the scene of a stabbing late Sunday night, leading to the arrest of a local woman on charges of assault and battery. Boston Police Department reports that officers from District C-6 responded to the incident at around 11:37 PM, near 112 Southampton Street after receiving a call about a person who had been stabbed.

UVA (1-1-0) dominated possession and shots attempted – the ‘Hoos had a 28-3 advantage in shots.
