Skidmore natives receive Best Screenplay Nomination from 30th Annual San Antonio Film
Diversity has always been a hot-button topic in the film industry, but one that doesn’t necessarily trickle down to the independent film world. With films like “Get Out”, “Talk to Me”, and “Barbarian” it seems as if diversity isn’t interjected into those films, it just exists. Depending on where you live, races and cultures blend without much notice, especially here in Texas. But for two screenwriters – Paul Gonzales, a Hispanic from South Texas, and Todd Antonio Biggerstaff, an actor from Los Angeles, California, originally from South Texas – the need to push diversity to the forefront of their latest horror screenplay “HOSPICE” felt as important as the story itself.
