Last season, Utah State finished 6-7 (4-4) and dealt with injuries for a majority of the season. Cooper Legas led the quarterback room for Utah State, throwing for 1,815 yards and 19 touchdowns. McCae Hillstead followed closely behind, throwing for 1,062 yards and 11 touchdowns to eight interceptions. McCae Hillstead has now transferred to BYU, and Legas has graduated, but Spencer Petras, who was added during the off-season, has officially been named the starter for Utah State. Davon Booth led the running back room last year for Utah State with 805 yards on 120 carries in addition to six touchdowns. Booth has transferred to Mississippi State, and Rashul Faison, who rushed for 736 yards and five touchdowns on 118 carries, is ready to step up. As far as receivers go, Jalen Royals (71 catches for 1080 yards and 15 touchdowns), Terrell Vaughn (89 catches for 933 yards and 11 touchdowns), Micah Davis (36 catches for 628 yards and six touchdowns), Colby Bowman (11 catches for 247 yards, two touchdowns) led the team in receiving and out of all of those players, the only one not returning is Vaugn. The Aggies return Mountain West first-team pick Jalen Royals in addition to Micah Davis, who is expected to have more production, and Colby Bowman. Utah State also returns tight end Broc Lane, who is one of the better tight ends in the conference and had 208 yards receiving on 21 receptions and one touchdown. It is very likely that Broc Lane could see more targets this upcoming season.
