Cringe Home Run Derby Anthem Sung by Coloradan
Disastrous Home Run Derby Anthem Sung by Coloradan. Singing the Home Run Derby anthem is a prestigious honor. Ingrid Andress, a Highlands Ranch native, seemed more than qualified for the task. At 32, she’s a four-time Grammy nominee, a Rock Canyon High School alumna, and a multiple-time Billboard Hot 100 artist who has headlined numerous tours.
Is Your Big Lots Store Going Away?
Will Colorado’s Big Lots Stores Be Affected by Closures?. It seems like an increasing number of businesses across Colorado have been closing their doors recently. From Boulder’s iconic Dark Horse likely facing demolition to Denver’s music venue Herman’s Hideaway closing, and the historic jazz club El Chapultepec also being on the brink of demolition, the trend is troubling.
Should all Colorado substitute teachers be members of PERA? The question is headed to court.
A group of five Colorado school districts has turned to the courts to fight a new policy that would allow substitute teachers they hire through outside staffing agencies to benefit from the state’s retirement system. The policy, school districts say, could cost them millions of dollars worth of retirement...
Inside a dyslexia screening program for some of Colorado’s rural students
When teacher Cindy Haralson would point at her preschool class with a stuffed owl named Baby Echo, most children quickly repeated the letter, word, and sound they’d just heard her say. Think “B, bat, b.”But one little girl — a good listener and natural problem-solver — stared blankly at her teacher day after day last year, unable to reproduce what she was hearing and seeing. Haralson recalled the girl looking at her classmates, as if to say, “How do you guys do that? How do you know that?”The girl’s struggle with alphabet lessons was the kind of red flag that...
State adopts controversial rule that makes it harder to expand and build new highways — here's what's happened since
In a bold move, Colorado has made it harder to widen highways or build new ones — all to reduce pollution output. The policy puts people and the planet before pavement, marking an important shift in transportation priorities, according to the New York TImes. The rule, adopted in 2021,...

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) - We’re not as hot as the past five days have been, but that’s not to say we aren’t hot. More cooling could be helped along by some showers and thunderstorms, but we won’t all get that rain. Stormy Spots This Evening.

Mind of Mike: Finebaum Nails It About Coach Prime
I rarely say this but Paul Finebaum is right. He recently said on ESPN that Deion Sanders is relevant but Colorado as a program is “irrelevant” in the big picture of college football. How is he wrong? Here’s his take… I can’t find one thing he says that’s false. Shedeur Sanders says Colorado is ...
Roosevelt City Secondary Water Project Update
Roosevelt City’s secondary water project continues, now working on Phase III. Roosevelt City was awarded a $2 million dollar grant in the spring from the Division of Water Resources to be used toward this phase of the project. Phase III got underway on July 1st at 200 North and 1000 West. The main line has been installed on 1000 West as well as Bonnie Drive. Services, including service lines and meters, are being installed along that same stretch. The services should be completed soon, and clean up and pressure testing are scheduled for the early part of this week. It is important to note that the trenches on 1000 West and Bonnie Drive will be backfilled with millings instead of repaired with asphalt. This is due to a road repair project that is scheduled for early 2025 to reconstruct both Bonnie Drive and 1000 West. Upon completion of the pressure testing, the crews will move to 350 North between 1000 West and 750 West where they will begin installing the main line. Providing a secondary water system has been a priority for Roosevelt City since 2008 in order to reduce strain on the culinary water system and provide a separate water source for outdoor irrigation.
