DODGE CITY, Kan. (KSNW) — Part of the roof at the Cargill beef plant in Dodge City collapsed over the weekend after the area got more than 4 inches of rain in a short period.

Cargill says no one was injured.

The company is not running production Monday as it deals with the mess. A spokesperson says Cargill is working with structural engineers to stabilize the roof.

The company is also beginning to implement contingency plans to safely resume operations as soon as possible.

“All of the processed beef in our coolers and distribution center was unharmed, and we will be shipping it to customers this week,” the spokesperson said. “We will leverage the broad footprint of our supply chain to minimize disruptions to customers and producers if necessary.”
