(Chester) Dodge County authorities have identified the individual at the center of a traffic crash and death investigation. Shortly after 2pm Thursday, sheriff’s deputies received a report of a car in the ditch on Highway 151 south of Highway 49 in the township of Chester. Authorities say upon their arrival the driver, identified as 91-year-old Arnold Hammer of Waupun, was deceased. The crash and death remain under investigation by the sheriff’s office. Anyone with information or observed the car in the ditch and did not call to report it, they are asked to contact Lieutenant Brian Loos at bloos@co.dodge.wi.us or at 920-386-4117.

6/29/24 Name Released in Dodge County Death Investigation
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office has identified the 91-year-old Waupun man found deceased in his car Thursday afternoon. The Sheriff’s Office got a call shortly after 2 pm reporting a car in the ditch off US Highway 151, south of State Highway 49, in the town of Chester. Arnold Hammer was found dead in the vehicle. The investigation into his death continues. Assisting at the scene was the Waupun Police Department, Waupun Fire Department, Lifestar EMS, the Dodge County Medical Examiner, and a Sheriff’s Chaplain.
6/29/24 Estranged Husband of Missing Clyman Woman Charged with ID Theft
The estranged husband of a missing Clyman woman was charged in Dodge County court Friday for allegedly stealing money from her financial accounts. Bond was set at $250,000 cash for Zachariah Rasch of Clyman who is charged with seven felony counts of misappropriating identity information to obtain money. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday, July 5th. Sheriff’s officials say while investigating the disappearance of 37-year-old Crystal Rasch they found numerous transactions had taken place using her financial accounts. Crystal Rasch was last seen on June 11th. She was reported missing on June 23rd. If anyone has information related to where she is they are asked to call the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Tip Line at 920-386-4590. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says only law enforcement professionals are permitted to be involved in the search for Crystal and the investigation of the case to maintain the integrity of the investigation.

6/29/24 Lomira Man Arrested After Standoff
Twelve hours after a Lomira man began a standoff with Dodge County Sheriff’s deputies a crisis negotiator was able to talk the man into existing a residence on Linden Court in the Village of Lomira. Anthony John Johnson was arrested on felony and misdemeanor domestic abuse charges Friday. Deputies responded to the residence late Thursday evening for a report of physical domestic abuse. The victim was able to leave the residence shortly after deputies arrived. They learned a firearm had been used during the incident. They were unable to get Johnson to leave the residence. A search warrant was obtained, and Johnson was talked out of leaving the residence nearly 12 hours later. He was booked into the Dodge County Jail on a felony charge of strangulation and suffocation, and misdemeanor charges of battery, disorderly conduct, and intentionally pointing a firearm at another person, all with domestic abuse penalty enhancers. Search warrants for the residence turned up a firearm, drugs, drug paraphernalia, and marijuana.
