Dave Roberts Provides Passionate Speech to Dodgers in Clubhouse Following NLDS Victory

The Los Angeles Dodgers celebrated in the clubhouse after clinching their ticket to the National League Championship Series, where they will face the New York Mets for a shot at advancing to the World Series. The Dodgers originally trailed the San Diego Padres in the NL Division Series but managed to win their final two games of the series to win the series.

For Game 4 of the series, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts opted to hold a bullpen game rather than start one pitcher. The decision paid off, as the Dodgers’ bullpen held the Padres without a run en route to an 8-0 victory. In Game 5, the Dodgers pulled off a 2-0 win to officially take the series.

During the team’s postgame celebrations, Roberts shouted out his team before the clubhouse erupted in champagne celebrations.

“I’ve never believed in a group of men more than I’ve believed in you guys, and more importantly, each one of you guys believed in each other,” Roberts said, via FOX Sports.

Roberts earned praise for his decisions and leadership, which helped the Dodgers come back in the series. With a starting rotation depleted because of injuries, Roberts certainly doesn’t have easy decisions to make but managed to choose correctly in the final two games of the series.

The NLDS victory marked the first time the Dodgers have won a playoff series since 2021 when they advanced to the NLCS to face the Atlanta Braves. This series also marked the first time the Dodgers have won a playoff game since 2022 after the Arizona Diamondbacks swept Los Angeles in 2023.

Now, the Dodgers have finally made it past the NLDS following back-to-back disappointing first-round exits in 2022 and 2023. This victory was undoubtedly sweet, but the Dodgers are still looking for more. The Dodgers are seeking their first trip to the World Series since 2020, the last time they won the World Series.

The Dodgers will first have to defeat the Mets for a chance at the World Series, which will be no easy opponent. The Mets have been hot recently, and seamlessly defeated the Philadelphia Phillies in the NLDS to advance to this point.
