Diamondbacks shortstop Geraldo Perdomo gave high praise to Dodgers’ Teoscar Hernández, despite slamming Los Angeles on social media just days before.

In an Instagram story, Perdomo reposted a video of Teoscar Hernández hitting a solo home run in the Dodgers’ 2-0 victory over the Padres Friday night. Perdomo also posted a screen recording of his direct messages including a caption that asked Dodgers fans not to hate him.

Perdomo’s change of heart was especially perplexing given he slammed the Dodgers following their Game 3 loss in the National League Division Series.

Perdomo took to social media to share his opinion on the club. The Arizona shortstop reposted a video of Fernando Tatis Jr. going yard and used a cuss word to express his feelings toward the Dodgers.

“F–k LA,” Perdomo wrote on his Instagram.

Dodgers fans were quick to criticize Perdomo for his comments following the 6-5 loss to the Padres in Game 3. It’s worth noting that Perdomo’s team, the Diamondbacks, were eliminated from playoff contention after the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets split a doubleheader at the end of the season.

The Diamondbacks swept the Dodgers in the NLDS in 2023, however, Arizona didn’t reach the playoffs this season. Along with the rest of his team, Perdomo was watching the series from home.

The Diamondbacks shortstop wasn’t the only hater the Dodgers have encountered this season. The entire San Diego squad made their opinions clear after letting off all sportsmanship throughout the NLDS.

Taunts and mockery from the Padres made headlines, but in the end, the club came up empty-handed. Along with haters, the Dodgers have had their fair share of critics, too.

The Dodgers were labeled as underdogs after a majority of baseball experts picked the Padres to win the playoff series. Nevertheless, the Dodgers are headed to their first Championship Series since 2021.

“Eight more wins,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told his players in the clubhouse. “And I’ll tell you right now guys, I’ve never believed in a group of men more than I believe in you guys. And more importantly, each one of you guys believes in each other. So let’s keep going and win eight more ballgames.”

The critics and haters are many, but it’s a testament to the winning reputation of the Dodgers franchise. The Dodgers will have to continue the uphill battle against the New York Mets in Game 1 of the NLCS Sunday.

I’m waiting for all the mea culpas from the east coast media that all fell in love with the Padres, in spite of the Dodgers having the best record in baseball. Sometimes I don’t think these clowns even stay awake to watch west coast baseball. ⚾️
