The Los Angeles Dodgers have removed infielder Gavin Lux from Game 3 of the National League Championship Series against the New York Mets.

Lux left game 1 with hip tightness, and didn’t play in Game 2.

Lux struck out to end the top of the seventh inning, so his spot in the order may not come up again. That makes this a great time to take him out of the game. However, it’s clear the hip issue is still lingering.

Lux went 0-for-4 in Game 3 with a strikeout. Taylor is now taking over at second base.

Taylor is 0-for-5 this postseason with four strikeouts. He’s in there mostly for defensive purposes for now, though.

The Dodgers lead 4-0 after seven innings. Walker Buehler pitched four shutout innings, followed by scoreless innings from Michael Kopech, Ryan Brasier, and Blake Treinen.

Kiké Hernández hit a massive two-run home run in the sixth inning to extend L.A.’s lead to 4-0.

The Dodgers are now six outs away from taking a 2-1 series lead over the Mets. The status of Lux will be a major topic following this game as the teams prepare for Game 4 on Thursday and Game 5 on Friday.
