Opinion: No Term Limits Helps Hawaii Legislators in a Number of Ways
Hawaii Legislators are part-time workers working from January to May during the legislative session. They work sixty session days, not including weekends and holidays. Most of them have other jobs for the rest of the year.

Opinion: SB 471 to Address Homelessness Stalls
Homelessness is a problem in Hawaii and many parts of the United States. Maui is front and center in the news because of the Maui wildfires. Opinion: Will Hawaii HB 1896 Solve Anything
Legislators don't advance every bill. Some advance in hearings, while others don't get past the first reading. HB 1896 is one bill that had three readings. Beginning 1/1/2027, prohibits the manufacture, sale, offer for sale, distribution for sale, and distribution for use of any food packaging, food service ware, cosmetic, or personal care product that contains intentionally added perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances, with certain exceptions. Takes effect 1/1/2027.
Opinion: Will Hawaiian Airlines Suffer the Same Fate as Aloha Airlines
If the antitrust lawsuits to stop the Hawaiian Airlines/Alaska Airlines merger are successful, Hawaiian Airlines could suffer the same fate as Aloha Airlines. Aloha Airlines flew its last flight on March 31, 2008. After 61 years in service, an Aloha Airlines flight from Maui to Honolulu landed in Honolulu at 10:34 pm. The company closed its business after 61 years in service.
