Missouri sees danger of industrial food waste
Gov. Mike Parson of Missouri recently signed legislation banning industrial food waste from Arkansas food processing plants. Waste from Arkansas can include offal, blood and grease, an estimated at 200,000 tons per year, being spread as fertilizer on pastures and farms in Missouri. The ban is related to concerns about runoff contaminating water.

Flags lowered in honor of Affton fire captain

CID proposed for old Schnucks property along Mexico Loop Road
At its July 11 meeting, the O’Fallon City Council conducted a public hearing and gave first reading to a bill that would establish the 1421 Mexico Road Community Improvement District (CID) for the entire property, all of the businesses eventually housed within the location and the parking lot. Rosalita’s Cantina Mexico Road Real Estate LLC filed the application. The CID would be a separate political subdivision governed by a five-member board of directors.

Imperial, Mo. (KFMO) - The picnic area and Spring Branch Trail at Mastodon State State Historic Site, in Imperial, remained closed due to Tuesday's flooding. The picnic area and all of its amenities are inaccessible due to debris deposited by the flood water. Officials say that the picnic area and Spring Branch trail sustained a considerable amount of damage during the flooding event and it's being assessed.
