    Alamo man dies in Donna car crash not wearing seatbelt, says DPS

    WESLACO, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatal one-vehicle crash that happened on July 4, according to a DPS news release.

    The crash occurred around midnight on IH-2 and FM 493 in Donna.

    The DPS investigation showed a 2005 silver Nissan Armada, occupied by only the driver, was traveling westbound on IH-2 near FM 493.

    For unknown reasons, the Nissan veered off the roadway and drove onto the westbound IH-2 Frontage Road, where the vehicle struck a wooden light pole, and rolled over. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected, DPS stated.

    Suspect gets $2M bond for allegedly killing friend’s boyfriend

    The victim was identified as Pedro Garcia, 45, a resident of Alamo. Garcia died at the scene from his injuries.

    DPS Troopers are further investigating this fatal crash.
