BSE Held to One Run in Loss to Wayne City
Brownstown-St. Elmo baseball gave up six runs in the fourth inning and was held to a single run as they fell to Wayne City 12-1 at home on Thursday. Wayne City took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning, adding on another three in the third inning for a 4-0 lead over the Bombers. A six-run fourth inning would further boost the Wayne Coty lead as BSE found themselves in a 10-0 hole. Another two runs in the fifth inning made it a 12-0 ballgame before the Bombers were able to put their first and only run on the board in the bottom of the fifth inning. That run was not enough to extend the game as BSE fell 12-1 in five innings. The Bombers are now 2-2 on the season and are right back in action at home today as they welcome South Central to Bob Page Field.
