Exciting news from the Pittsburgh International Airport! The Allegheny County Airport Authority announced on Monday that June 2024 was the busiest month the airport has seen in 19 years. With over 970,000 passengers passing through PIT, it’s the highest monthly traffic since July 2005, when the airport saw more than 1.02 million travelers.

This surge in passenger numbers is notable as it surpasses the previous peak while PIT was still part of US Airways. In addition to the bustling traffic, the airport also scheduled over 1.2 million seats in June—the highest seat count since May 2007.

Christina Cassotis, CEO of Pittsburgh International Airport, is optimistic about this trend. She remarked, “We expect this will be a new watermark year, and we can start talking about 2024 as a new benchmark as we continue to see growth in the market.”
