These are not things that are easy to admit. Sometimes we have a hard time accepting them. Awareness comes with maturity and life experience. We need to go through a series of events and gain life experience to understand that not everything is as clear as we think. Searching for these truths and discovering them can be painful, but it can be rewarding, it can change your life.

So the sooner you "swallow" them, the better...

Five "bitter pills" in life that you need to swallow:

    1. No one is responsible for your happiness (except you)

It's time to stop blaming others for your failures. We come into this world to fight for our happiness, to live our lives the way we want. We are here for just a moment, and that moment should be enough to make us feel satisfied. Don't wait for someone else to take control of your life. Don't look for someone to blame for your own mistakes.

It was you who made them, you made bad decisions, you trusted the wrong people. It's not luck or bad luck. Stop making excuses, start taking action. Nothing happens without a reason.

    2. Nobody owes you anything

Do you feel that your children are ungrateful for the effort and care you put into creating a home for them? Or that your friend is not grateful enough for the help you have given him? Leave those bitter regrets behind. Karma returns sooner or later, not necessarily from the side you expect it from. If you decide to act for others, do not do it expecting to receive something in return. Do it because it brings you joy.

    3. You can't run away from who you are to become who you want to be.

Don't pretend to be happy when inside you're falling apart into a million pieces. Don't try to please others first and think about yourself last. No one is going to live your life for you, no one is going to give you experience, skills, money or things you need. No one is the creator of your destiny. Remember, in the end we are left alone with everything: with unfulfilled love, unfulfilled dreams, with regret that nothing turned out the way it should have.

Don't leave them stuck in the boxes you were locked into long ago, and you left them there only because you didn't have the courage to fight for your happiness, for the right to make your own decisions about your life.

And above all: love yourself. Don't waste time trying to reinvent yourself. You are already perfect, even so far from perfectionist. Accept what you cannot change, don't run away into dreams of what will never happen. Use what you have here and now.

    4. Not everyone thinks the same way as you.

A loved one may disagree with you on many issues. The problem is that we often think that our point of view is the most correct. But everyone has their own truth. Therefore, it is important to be able to agree, to reach a compromise that will open the eyes of both parties to a different point of view. It is through arguing that we see more, open up to others and begin to wonder whether we are actually right.

    5. True love doesn't hurt

It doesn't leave bruises on your body. So stop making excuses, stop waiting for the power of your feelings to heal her/him. True love is not toxic, it doesn't humiliate. It doesn't lie, it doesn't hit, it's honest. True love makes us better and stronger. True love is not a momentary infatuation. It pushes us to plan our life in the long term with the person we love, it gives us a sense of security. And most importantly, it really exists.
