    Traffic stop leads to heroin discovery, arrest

    CAMBRIDGE — On July 7, shortly after midnight while on patrol, a Dorchester County sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a registration violation. The vehicle was occupied by two subjects; a 23-year-old Royal Oak man, and a 23-year-old Easton.

    A canine was deployed to conduct a scan, and the dog alerted to the presence of narcotics within the vehicle. A search resulted in a large amount of narcotics being located.

    Upon attempting to place the occupants of the vehicle under arrest, the Easton man fled from the scene. The other suspect was placed under arrest and transported to the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office.

    Deputies seized approximately 630 packaged wax folds containing heroin/fentanyl, three Percocet pills, two Ecstasy pills, other CDS packaging materials, a small amount of cash, and a bag of cannabis which was located with the controlled dangerous substances (CDS).

    Robert Nathaniel Palmer and Justin Anthony Foster were charged with:

    Three counts of CDS: possession-not cannabis,

    Two counts of CDS: possession with the intent to distribute: narcotics,

    One count of possession with the intent to distribute cds fentanyl/heroin,

    One count of CDS: possession – large amount, and

    One count of CDS: possession of paraphernalia.

    Additionally, Palmer was charged with several traffic-related offenses and Foster received charges related to his evasion of arrest.

    Palmer was seen by a Dorchester County District Court Commissioner and released on a $15,000 unsecured bond. An application for charges was completed on Foster and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
