Dothan man dead after ATV crash in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – Florida Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash on Saturday.

The incident happened just after 1:30 p.m on Biscayne Road and Gordon Road in Jackson County, troopers said.

According to a news release, a 52-year-old man from Dothan Alabama was traveling west in an ATV on Biscayne Road when he traveled off the roadway to the right. He overcorrected steering back across the roadway to the left colliding with the dirt shoulder, officials wrote.

As a result, the vehicle overturned and collided with a tree. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers confirmed.

The crash is currently under investigation.
