Two Maryland Restaurants Make Washingtonian’s “29 Best New Restaurants in the DC Area“ List
Washingtonian Magazine has released its “29 Best New Restaurants in the DC Area” list, stating “There’s never a dull moment in Washington’s food scene, but the past year has been especially exciting.” Just two Maryland restaurants, both in Montgomery County, have made the list:

The Accord Symphony Orchestra to Perform Outdoor Concert at Oatlands
Oatlands, in collaboration with the Black History Committee of the Thomas Balch Library is proud to present BRAVE a concert featuring The Accord Symphony Orchestra kicking off its 9th Season on September 15, 2024 at 4pm. Maryland Ensemble Theatre’s Fun Company, led by Artistic Director Julie Herber, will present The Three Swingin’ Little Pigs, a modern musical twist on the classic tale. This original production follows a trio of pigs as they leave the farm for the big city, where they encounter Wolfie, the smooth talking owner of a club who makes them an offer they can’t refuse. With catchy songs, and lively dance numbers, this swingin’ musical is sure to entertain audiences of all ages, but is particularly geared towards children ages 5 to 12 years old.
Hot Dog! Catalyst Expands to SECU Stadium at the University of Maryland
Chris Van Jura, a New Jersey native, launched Catalyst Hot Dogs as a food truck/trailer serving New Jersey-style hot dogs in late 2020, operating across Montgomery County and nearby areas. In January 2023, Catalyst Hot Dogs expanded by taking over the kitchen at Denizen’s Brewing in Riverdale Park (4550 Van Buren St.) in Prince George’s County, and later that year, they also opened a concession stand at the Xfinity Center (8500 Paint Branch Dr.) at the University of Maryland.
