HOOVER -- Prattville’s flag football team opened the 2024 season with a sweep of Brookwood, John Carroll and Hewitt-Trussville in Hoover’s kickoff tournament on Saturday. John Carroll hosted the qualifying tournament for its area last year before losing in the first round to eventual 1A-5A state champion Wenonah. Miles College receives grant to convert practice football field from grass to turf
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Miles College is one of four HBCU’s that will receive a grant through the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation to refurbish their football field. The grant, called the ‘HBCU Invitational Field Refurbishment Program’, is an invitational grant designed to improve field quality, safety, and accessibility for students and local community groups serving youth through football. The program was founded by the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation (AMBFF) and is supported by the NFL Foundation.
