Tuscumbia man accused of shooting man with shotgun
TUSCUMBIA, Ala. (WAFF) - A man is in jail after police say he shot a man in the back with a shotgun. William Weathers, 19, was arrested Saturday and charged with assault. Weathers was booked into the Colbert County Jail on a $25,000 bond. His attorney is asking that he be released on his own recognizance due to his age. He was released on Monday.
Area runners compete in season-opening 5Ks
A number of local runners finished in the top 20 at recent high school cross county meets. At the Wildcat Twilight Invitational on Thursday, Aug. 22 in Anniston, Glencoe’s Sarah Ponder (22:20.18) finished third and Emma Godfrey placed eighth (23:22.06) out of a field of 67 runners. Hokes Bluff’s Ethan Patterson (18:15.51) came in fourth in the boys’ race.

Walker is a too cute almost seven-month-old male Weimaraner/Lab looking mix, about 35-40 lbs. He was found as a stray pup and brought to us. Walker was a very timid boy at first but he is thriving in a most awesome foster home where he has found his confidence and is proving to be a most fun, playful and loveable pup indeed.
