All evacuation notices lifted for fast-moving grass fire near Days Creek
DAYS CREEK, Ore. – Officials have issued an evacuation order for a road near the community of Days Creek as a fast-moving grass fire burns in the area. The Douglas County Sheriff’s office issued a Level One (Be Ready) evacuation order for all homes on Michaels Ranch Lane near Days Creek in the afternoon of July 19 in response to a fast-moving grass fire. Residents in the area should prepare to leave if the danger increases, and may want to leave the area now. A Level One evacuation notice means that danger is nearby, and residents should keep an eye on it in case conditions worsen.
LAKESIDE MAN JAILED FOR ELUDING IN A STOLEN VEHICLE
A Lakeside man was jailed for eluding police in a stolen vehicle on Wednesday. A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just after 7:20 a.m. a deputy received information about a pickup stolen from Florence. It was found about nine miles south of the intersection with Highway 126. The deputy advised other law enforcement regarding the vehicle’s location and attempted to stop it about four miles north of the intersection with Highway 38.
