    Here is the breakdown of how drivers attracted new social media fans.

    Fernando Alonso gained 211,979 new Instagram followers in two weeks. Alonso gained fan support with his mastery of the overtake and calm, calculated driving. Aston Martin fans are ecstatic with the team’s qualifying and race results.

    Lewis Hamilton pulled in 206,035 fans over the same time frame. Hamilton finished fifth at Bahrain. Hamilton enjoys enthusiastic fan support year after year. He has eight world championships in F1—a record he shares with Michael Schumacher.

    Charles Leclerc had 160,079 new Instagram after Bahrain. Le Clerc retired with car problems. The Ferrari driver has massive support for the Tifosi.

    Carlos Sainz gained 105,424 followers in the two weeks surrounding Bahrain. Sainz, in a Ferrari, finished the Bahrain GP in fourth place and picked up twelve world championship points for his effort.

    Max Verstappen pulled in support from 78,744 new IG followers. The reigning world champion outpaced the field to win the Bahrain GP. He starts the second race of the season in Australia with 25 world championship points.

    Other popular drivers gaining a large number of IG followers are:

    Sergio Perez, The Red Bull driver, added 67,372 IG followers.

    George Russell, a Mercedes teammate of Hamilton, gained support on Instagram from 62,437.

    Lando Norris, in a Mclaren, was forced to make six pit stops and finished last of the cars still running at the end of the race. Nevertheless, Lando, the ever-popular McLaren pilot, pulled in 43,066 new fans.

    Formula One, the highest international racing class, is sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA). Since the series began in 1950, these open-wheel single-seaters remain the premier form of racing. The word Formula refers to the rules each car must conform to during the competition. Rules change frequently. A Grand Prix field is made up of twenty cars from ten teams. The competition takes place around the world. In 2023, F1 scheduled 23 races. Races are held on tracks graded as “1”. There are less than 50 race tracks eligible to host a Formula One Grand Prix race around the world,

    The top ten drivers earn points for top ten finishes. The driver with the most points at the end of the season is awarded the FIA World Championship. A driver must secure a current FIA super license to compete in the F1 World Championship. Separate points are awarded to the drivers and constructors.
