    Aston Martin Wins the Formula One Championship When it Comes to High-Value Sponsors

    Oppizi has revealed which Formula One teams have the most valuable sponsors in a new study conducted by the offline marketing site.

    “The high-value sponsorship deals taken up by these Formula One teams are primarily showcased on the team uniforms, fan merchandise, and the cars themselves. The livery of each car is the main focus of the team’s identity and brand image, so featuring their sponsors proudly contributes to this image. Advertising brands on Formula One cars is an excellent form of marketing for the sponsors, as all Formula One fans will be exposed to this marketing through watching races in person or on television. The marketing of Formula One sponsors extends beyond the season as fans purchase and walk around wearing team hats, shirts, and other memorabilia in their day-to-day life.” - Oppizi spokesperson.

    By analyzing each team’s website for a list of primary sponsors, the company value of each sponsor was calculated by market capitalization and collated to give a total figure. Market capitalization (market cap) is essentially the value of all a company’s shares of stock and is often used to measure how much a company is worth.

    Below is the ranking of the Top Five Formula One teams by Value of its Main Sponsors:


    1. Aston Martin – Approximately $8.059 trillion

    Aston Martin is the clear winner for the Formula One team with the highest value sponsorships, with the main sponsors’ combined value being a massive $9.059 trillion. This value is primarily thanks to Aramco, the Saudi Arabian Oil company currently the third largest company in the world, behind Microsoft and Apple, with a market cap valuation of $8.02 trillion. The second largest Aston Martin sponsor is Cognizant, an information technology consultancy company with a market cap of $35.58 billion. Finally, Aston Martin is a significant sponsor of the Formula One team, with a market cap of $3.68 billion.

    2. McLaren – Approximately $1.622 trillion

    In second place comes McLaren, with the main sponsors’ combined value reaching $1.622 trillion. Android and Chrome are two of the main sponsors for the team, and with both being owned by Google, it is no surprise that the market cap is a massive figure, $1.621 trillion. Once again, the team’s namesake is listed as a primary sponsor - the luxury automotive manufacturer’s market cap is at a respectable $1.66 billion.

    3. Red Bull – Approximately $388 billion

    The current leading team in the Formula One championship comes in third place for the highest-value sponsorships, with the combined value of the main sponsors coming to $388 billion. Oracle is listed as one of the main sponsors of Red Bull Racing, and with a market cap of $307.14 billion, it is a significant contributor to the team’s sponsorship value. Oracle is an American computer technology company that is one of the largest software companies in the world. Red Bull is the other main listed sponsor, with a market cap valuation of $81.8 billion for the energy drink company.

    4. Ferrari – Approximately $334 billion

    The current fourth-place team in the constructor’s championship also comes in fourth place for this study. Ferrari’s main sponsors’ combined value by market cap is $334 billion. The most significant contributor to Ferrari’s sponsorship value is Shell, which has a market cap value of $210.16 billion. Shell is a British multinational oil and gas company with an instantly recognizable logo – a yellow scallop shell with a red outline. Santander, VGW Play, and Ferrari comprise the rest of the team’s sponsorship value.

    5. Alpha Tauri – Approximately $150 billion

    Alpha Tauri comes in fifth place, with the team’s main sponsors’ combined value reaching $150.53 billion. Alpha Tauri, which Red Bull owns, is the highest-value sponsor, with a market cap of $81.8 billion. Honda, the Japanese automotive manufacturer, is the second-highest value sponsor of Alpha Tauri, with a market cap value of $50.38 billion. Orlen, the Polish oil company, is the third main sponsor of Alpha Tauri, with a market cap of $18.35.
