Britain’s Kensington Palace Releases Image of Prince Louis to Mark His 6th Birthday

Kensington Palace has unveiled a significant photograph of Prince Louis, marking his 6th birthday.

This image of Prince Louis, the first by the Princess of Wales, holds particular importance as it comes after a photo controversy, with news organizations, including The Associated Press, withdrawing a previously edited photo over concerns of digital manipulation.

The princess took the photo published on Tuesday in the last few days, the palace said in a statement. British media reported that the image of the beaming prince in a plaid shirt had yet to be edited.

The princess is currently being treated for an undisclosed type of cancer.

Louis, born April 23, 2018, is her youngest child with Prince William, the heir to the throne.

The release of this new photograph is a significant event, as it is the first image to be shared by the palace since March.

Kate apologized for the confusion caused by altering a family photo, which news organizations retracted.

That picture of Kate and her children was intended to calm speculation about the princess’ health after she retreated from public duties following abdominal surgery.

However, it had the opposite effect, with the online rumor mill going into overdrive after news organizations decided to retract it. Kate later announced that she was being treated for cancer.
