The Las Vegas Monorail will celebrate two decades of service on the Las Vegas Strip with discounted Monorail tickets and special offers from Las Vegas partners during July.

July 15, 2024, is a special day for The Las Vegas Monorail. We’re celebrating 20 incredible years of moving visitors around the Las Vegas Resort Corridor! Since opening in 2004, we’ve welcomed over 103 million riders, making every trip smoother and more fun.

Looking Back

When the monorail launched on July 15, 2004, the goal was to offer a fast, easy, and eco-friendly way to get around the Las Vegas Strip.

Making a Difference

Over the last two decades, the Monorail has become a key player in reducing traffic and helping the environment. The monorail has eliminated more than 2 million vehicle miles from Southern Nevada roads annually, resulting in less traffic and cleaner air for everyone.

Easy and Efficient

Our 3.9-mile elevated system focuses on convenience for the rider. Need to get from one end of the Strip to the other? You can do it in less than 15 minutes at speeds up to 50 miles per hour. Nine automated trains arrive every four to eight minutes at these seven convenient stations:

• MGM Grand
• Horseshoe/Paris Las Vegas
• Flamingo/Caesars Palace
• Harrah’s/The LINQ
• Westgate
• Boingo Station - Las Vegas Convention Center
• SAHARA Las Vegas

Going Green

The rail provides 100 percent electric, zero-emission trains committed to sustainability. The trains reduce emissions by more than 27 tons each year. The regenerative braking system also captures energy when the trains slow down, saving up to 20 percent of power. It makes a positive impact on the planet.

The monorail looks forward to continuing to serve as a critical mobility component in the Las Vegas Resort Corridor. The goal is to keep providing fast, valuable, and convenient service to visitors while staying committed to offering a green transportation option. The monorail delivers top-notch service to millions of passengers without relying on traditional transit subsidies.
