In a recent video, the Princess of Wales, 42, revealed that she feels relieved after chemotherapy. She said her focus is now on doing what I can to stay cancer-free, and despite finishing chemo, her path to healing and complete recovery remains long.
“I must continue to take each day as it comes,” she said. “I am, however, looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can. Despite all that’s gone before, I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life.”
Kate narrated the three-minute video, which showed the princess with her husband, Prince William, and their children walking through the woods, having a picnic and playing cards.
Princess Kate thanked people for their support during her cancer treatment and said that while she is not out of the woods, she is making progress.
In March, Kensington Palace announced that Princess Kate had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing a course of preventive chemotherapy treatment.
She didn’t announce an official timeline of events she would return to but said she would attend some public events this summer.
She said she would attend King Charles’s birthday celebration parade this weekend, an event known as the Trooping the Colours, which the palace announced on Princess Kate and Prince William’s official Instagram accounts.

Over the last few months, I have been overwhelmed by all the kind messages of support and encouragement. They have made a difference for William and me and helped us through more challenging times.
I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days, you feel weak and tired and must go into your body’s rest. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.
My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months. On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, and start to do a little work from home.
I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet.
I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty. I am taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much-needed time to heal.
Thank you so much for your continued understanding and for all of you who have shared your stories with me.
