Volkswagen, Toyota, Tesla among more than 175,000 vehicles recalled: Check car recalls

Volkswagen, Audi, Nissan, Toyota and General Motors were among the companies with more than 175,000 vehicles recalled, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Volkswagen recall for rear camera issue

Volkswagen is recalling 84,432 vehicles because the rearview camera image may be delayed or deactivated after shifting into reverse. This reduces the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury or crash.

The vehicles recalled are:

• 2022-2024 Golf R
• 2022-2024 Golf GTI
• 2024 Atlas
• 2024 Atlas Cross Sport

Dealers will update the infotainment system software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on Aug. 23. Owners may contact VW customer service at 1-800-893-5298. VW's number for this recall is 91US.

Volkswagen is also recalling 9,653 Audi vehicles because the front axle brake hoses can develop tears, causing a leak and a brake circuit failure. This can reduce braking performance, extending the distance required to stop and increasing the risk of a crash.

The vehicles included in the recall are:

• 2022-2024 Audi RS E-Tron GT
• 2022-2024 Audi E-Tron GT

Dealers will replace the front axle brake hoses, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on Aug. 16. Owners may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Audi's number for this recall is 47UP.

Nissan recalls vehicles over suspension issue

Nissan is recalling 5,929 2024 Frontier pickup trucks. The front right-side lower link may have been manufactured with an oversized ball joint, which can result in corrosion and ball joint separation from the front right-side lower link. The separation can cause a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Dealers will replace the front right-side lower link, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on August 15. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is PD109.

Nissan is also recalling 7,222 vehicles because the driveshaft can fatigue and break, causing a loss of drive power, or a vehicle to roll away when the vehicle is in park without the parking brake applied. Both scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.
