Middleburg Heights OKs preliminary plan for Polaris ‘ERA’ addition
MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio -- Polaris Career Center continues to expand, with plans this fall to break ground on a sleek, modern addition to house the Engineering Technology, Robotics and Automation (ERA) programs. The Middleburg Heights Planning Commission approved preliminary development plans for the 28,000-square-foot space during its July 24 meeting.

Man hospitalized after Merriman Valley shooting early Friday
A 35-year-old man was hospitalized Friday morning after being found with a gunshot wound in Merriman Valley, according to Akron police. Officers responded to reports of a shooting at about midnight in the 1800 block of Merriman Road. Upon arrival, police found the man with gunshot wound to the chest. He was subsequently transported to Cleveland Clinic Akron General, where he is currently listed in critical condition. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
