DOYLESTOWN, PA—Doylestown will celebrate its annual old-fashioned Fourth of July celebration at Fonthill Castle on Thursday.

The event, which will go from noon to 4 p.m., kicks off at 12:30 p.m. with a parade of children riding bicycles they’ve decorated down the property’s tree-lined driveway. The day will continue with food, games, crafts, entertainment and live music featuring the Ring the Rafters Quartet, the Delaware Valley Saxophone Quartet and Lolly Hopwood.

Games will include wheelbarrow and sack races, tug-of-war and historic town ball, which is a precursor to baseball.

In a nod to the past, the PA Wheelmen will be on hand for their annual antique bike demonstration. Musician Darcy Fair will play Revolutionary tunes and recount tales of old accompanied by a harp.

Food trucks will include Big Poppa’s BBQ, Bonjour Creperie, Dough and Co., and KC’s FunnelCakes.

Tickets cost $5 for adults, $1 for kids from 6 to 17. Admission is free for kids under 6. Tickets can be purchased online and at the door. Only cash will be accepted for on-site tickets.
