It has been two months since Shannen Doherty died of breast cancer after battling the debilitating condition for years. Although she was only 53, Shannen made a lasting impact among her fans and those who have worked with her in the past despite her reputation for being strict.

The past weekend saw the late actress being remembered at a ‘90s Con event in Dayton Beach, Florida, as her Beverly Hills, 90210 co-stars Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Brian Austin Green, and Gabrielle Carteris took to the stage in her honor.

While on stage for the panel session, which Tori Spelling was meant to be on but opted out days prior to the Con, Brian gushed about how his late friend Shannen remained transparent and incredibly brave despite going through difficult challenges. He added that she often put aside her health issues to fully enjoy experiencing others.

Shannen has also inspired those beyond her acting circle, including one of Carteris’ friends, who feels hopeful regardless of her cancer diagnosis thanks to her. Carteris noted that Shannen’s legacy is for cancer-ill people and survivors who want more out of life.

Cancer was no reason for Shannen to put her life on pause as she continued to create and inspire. On her Let’s Be Clear podcast, she regularly spoke up for people like herself, debunking the narrative that cancer automatically means retirement from life’s fun. Just before creating her show, she delivered a touching interview, where she admitted she did not want to die.

Shannen had big plans, which included traveling more and potentially moving to Italy. She also disclosed her intention to build her dream house in Tennessee with her Charmed co-star Holly Marie-Combs, who said Shannen thought she had a lot more time ahead. Holly recalled seeing Shannen looking giddy and excited about her plans, which she sadly never got to realize.
