Erin Murphy Reveals She Is In A Secret Group With Former Child Stars

While celebrating the 60th anniversary of Bewitched, Erin Murphy recalls her childhood celebrity, which was expectedly different from that of an average kid. She starred in the popular eight-season show from 1966 to 1972, after which she appeared in commercials, more series, and reality TV.

During her recent chat with Fox News Digital, she discussed juggling work and school, and how similarly child stars like herself lived their lives. Thanks to shared experience, Erin is mostly friends with child celebrities, and they even have a secret online group today.

Her job did not stop her education; however, she was not in the classroom at all times. During filming, the studio would have a limo pick her up from school, and she would have her lessons on set. Erin claims she had the best of both worlds as she could also enjoy regular school during work hiatuses.

Erin, now 60, was only 2 when she joined the show, meaning she practically grew up behind the cameras. Although her parents were always on set with her, she considered her co-stars family. Her early fame did not come without trade-offs, as she could not participate in sports with the other kids due to work; however, she holds no regrets.

Decades After Fame

More than five decades later, Erin’s early life has influenced her circle of friends, which is mostly made up of child stars like Maureen McCormick. She noted that she is buddies with kids from The Brady Bunch, The Waltons, and Little House on the Prairie— or anyone from sitcoms between the ‘50s and ‘90s.

Now a mother of six, Erin has been supportive of her children’s career paths. Her eldest currently works in the entertainment industry as a TV virtual reality designer, while his younger siblings are in different sectors. Erin now works as a voice-over artist and spends her leisure time traveling, partaking in celebrity poker tournaments, and going deep-sea fishing with actors and comedians.
