Anna Nicole Smith’s former bodyguard Big Moe disclosed the bizarre ritual the late model practiced before her death, which involved medicating herself to sleep to connect to her son Daniel, who passed from a drug overdose.

Like her son, Anna also died from an accidental drug overdose, which is said to have been an effect of her devastation. Big Moe recalled seeing her lifeless in her Hollywood hotel room in Florida in 2007. He expressed his regrets about not forcing her to rehab during her vulnerable moments.

The night before Anna took the fatal combination of sedative chloral hydrate and four benzodiazepines — clonazepam, lorazepam, oxazepam, and diazepam — she told Big Moe that she only gets to see Daniel while asleep. This explains why she drugged herself to sleep on the days leading up to her demise.

Big Moe also corrected the notion that she killed herself, explaining that she was simply avoiding the pain through sleep when she met her end. More reports also revealed that Anna nearly died earlier after almost drowning in a swimming pool in Florida.

The cause of Anna’s death further reinforced speculations that she was not a drug addict. However, the screen goddess did not go beyond the usual pills. She only went overboard with her doses and would regularly take Xanax and pain meds.

Based on her past ordeal with self-medicating, Anna was also confident that she had high medication tolerance and would not get a prescription. Her final moments involved her being a new mother to Dannielynn, who just turned 18, while battling pneumonia after the pool accident.
