Elvis Presley’s stepbrother from his father’s marriage to Davada Stanley Presley recently hosted a show titled My Brother Elvis with Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino. David Stanley clarified some myths about his late older brother during the program and debunked rumors that have lasted for decades.

One of the bizarre allegations is that Elvis’ ghost roams the Westgate Hotel as he did over 600 back-to-back sold-out shows there between 1969 and 1976. Conspiracy theories about Elvis going into hiding have also made rounds online, thanks to authors like Gail Brewer-Giorgio.

Elvis reportedly snacked on a cheeseburger just before his death, with the calorie-dense snack getting stamped as his favorite. However, David debunked the claims, saying Elvis did not have a preferred meal but enjoyed a variety of food like steak, Italian, chicken noodle soup, or some chili to heat up his throat before performances.

Speaking of pre-show prep, Elvis was accused of demanding that his trailer be parked 1000 yards from the stage so he could clear his head on the walk there. From David’s knowledge of the Rock ‘n’ Roll king, his known pre-performance ritual was to use a nasal douche to free up his throat.

    More ‘myths’ about Elvis

Interestingly, David said fans have no idea how much of a multi-talented musician Elvis was. The craft came almost naturally to him as he was skilled in playing the guitar, drums, bass, and almost any instrument he laid his hands on. David also noted that he sometimes feels Elvis’ presence, but there have been no confirmed sightings of his ghost.

True to hearsay, Elvis was afraid of flying and preferred driving instead. He would only manage to jet privately, which led him to acquire the Lisa Marie, which he named after his only daughter. Elvis would sometimes take over driving his customized double-decker show bus on the way to and from gigs.
