‘Pioneer Woman’ Ree Drummond Celebrates Daughter’s Engagement With Sweet Photo

The farming family is growing! Food Network icon Ree Drummond is radiant with excitement for her daughter Paige after the 24-year-old got engaged to her sweetheart David Andersen. On social media, Drummond voiced her excitement—and her gladness, because now she doesn’t have to keep these engagement plans a secret anymore!

Married since 1996 to Ladd Drummond, Drummond is the proud mother of five children: Alex, Paige, Bryce, Jamar, and Todd. Alex has been married to her own dearly beloved, Mauricio Scott, for three years as of May. Here is the latest on Paige as she embarks on this phase of life for herself.

It was Alex who broke the news of Paige’s engagement. On Saturday, August 3, Alex took to Instagram to share a radiant photo of the happy couple to her Instagram Stories. It shows Andersen with his arms wrapped lovingly around Paige as the two beam at the camera on a beautiful, sunny day.

It appears that the photo was taken not long after Andersen asked his sweetheart for her hand in marriage, as the newly engaged Paige is seen showing off her ring with gusto. Tying it all together is the caption “ENGAGED” Alex wrote across the top of the photo.

Ree has a lot to celebrate thanks to Paige and Andersen, and she’s made her excitement no secret ever since Andersen started becoming a regular feature in the family’s life.

Food blogger Ree has used her website to share updates on life on the Drummond farm and beyond, including some details on Paige and her romance life. In a January 4 blog post, Ree recounted the family’s trip to Colorado in celebration of the New Year and shared a warm introduction just for Andersen.

“Okay. I buried the lede. This is David. He’s Paige’s ‘friend.’ Not her friend, mind you,” she teased in the captions of a photo featuring the future engaged couple. “Her ‘friend.’ I won’t go into detail because that’s Paige’s place to do…but the smile on her face might give you some idea of how Paige feels about her new friend. I mean ‘friend.’ I mean, I’m going to stop writing this caption now!”

“David was only able to stay for the first three days, so on his last day, I went out to breakfast with him and Paige,” she went on to share.

Drummond was also all too thrilled to share the engagement news online. “I am so relieved I can finally share this news because the stress was getting to me,” Ree admitted at last on her website. “I have kept it a secret (from Paige, but also from like, everyone else on the planet) for about six weeks, and I can finally exhale. Paige and her boyfriend, David, got engaged tonight!”

She further revealed, “The scheming we did with David, our clandestine travel to Dallas, and the outright lies and deception we all had to throw [Paige’s] way over the past couple of weeks to make sure she didn’t grow suspicious. It was cops and robbers, it was cloak and dagger, it was an epic action adventure movie!”

“For now, I just want to say this: We are so happy!” Drummond concluded, “Paige and David are such a great match, a terrific team! Paige is my strong, mighty, wonderful daughter and the fact that she found a person she wants to spend her life with is a pretty indescribable feeling.”
