Paul McCartney caught the attendees of a recent show at the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, New York, by surprise and performed the Beatles hit song of 1963, “I Saw Her Standing There.” The attendees were pleased to see the Fab Four’s frontman as he strutted the stage in a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt.

Joining Paul for the impromptu act were the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith, producer Andrew Watt, and guitarist G.E. Smith. Watt posted the wholesome moment to his Instagram, featuring Paul singing the chorus as he put his hand on Watt’s shoulder.

Watt accompanied the clip with the caption, “So last night @chadsmithofficial and I burned the @talkhousebar to the ground and then @paulmccartney desecrated the place…dream like sequence,” and it soon got reactions from his followers and Beatles fans. “So cool!” someone exclaimed in the comments.

The post has over ten thousand likes so far and hundreds of comments, including one from singer-songwriter Madison Beer. “Unreal. I don’t even have words,” she wrote. One of the concertgoers confirmed it was an epic show and asked Paul to show up again in the future.

The Hampton performance of “I Saw Her Standing There” got more praise from the likes of Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath and Flea from Hot Chili Peppers. The classic was written by Paul and his late bandmate John Lennon in 1963 for their debut UK album Please Please Me.
