O.J. Simpson’s ashes have been shared among his four adult children, Arnelle, Jason, Sydney, and Justin, months after he died of prostate cancer. According to Malcolm LaVergne, creating the jewelry, coupled with the legal processes behind it, costs about $4,200.

Simpson also left his will in the care of Malcolm, who also had the opportunity to get the same tributary jewelry, but he declined. The late running back’s lawyer is still in the process of paying off Simpson’s debts, including the hundreds of millions owed to Ron Goldman’s family due to the infamous murder case.

Simpson signed his will in January, designating Malcolm in charge of his estate, and his son Justin as successor executor. This was officially filed in Clark County, Nevada a few days after his passing in April. It was also in this document that he detailed his wishes for his now-distributed remains.

He wanted all his property to be transferred into The Orenthal Simpson Revocable Living Trust, with a no-contest clause attached to the request should any beneficiary or heir attempt to question the will. Such persons will only receive $1 in lieu of potential inheritance as a consequence.

    Paying off Simpson’s debts

Although Malcolm is liquidating Simpson’s assets to offset debts, he is also making sure the Goldman family does not receive any benefits from the late athlete’s trust. Ron’s father, Fred Goldman, pursued a civil lawsuit against Simpson, which has accrued into a financial obligation of $117,041,675.27 from Simpson’s estate.

Malcolm had refused to compensate the Goldman family as required; however, he later agreed to cooperate, noting that the estate had a $500,000 tax lien to sort. He also requested court permission to auction some of Simpson’s property to raise the funds.
