    Canada's Vincent claims canoe single gold in photo finish

    Canada's Katie Vincent defeated Tokyo champion Nevin Harrison of the United States in a photo finish to claim gold in the women's canoe single over 200 metres at the Paris Games on Saturday.

    Vincent set a world best of 44.12 seconds, finishing just one hundreth of a second ahead of Harrison. Bronze went to Cuba's Yarisleidis Cirilo.

    In the women's kayak single over 500m, Lisa Carrington of New Zealand claimed a second consecutive gold in the event with an Olympic best time of 1 minutes 47.36 seconds.

    Tamara Csipes of Hungary took silver, while bronze went to Denmark's Emma Aastrand Jorgensen.

    Tokyo men's kayak single 1,000m winner Bálint Kopasz had to settle for bronze in Paris, while his Hungarian team-mate Ádám Varga claimed silver.

    Paris Games gold went to Josef Dostál of the Czech Republic, who completed the course in 3 minutes 24.07 seconds.
