US Computer giant IBM on Monday revealed plans to acquire Accelalpha, a Washington-based Oracle services provider.

IBM aims to expand its expertise in Oracle consulting, particularly in supply chain and logistics, finance, enterprise performance management and customer transformation through this acquisition.

"Many enterprises depend on Oracle to run the workflows that are at the heart of their enterprise," said Kelly Chambliss, senior vice president of IBM Consulting, Americas.

"With our acquisition of Accelalpha, IBM will be even better positioned to help our clients deploy and manage Oracle solutions, including generative AI and cloud technology, for competitive advantage."

The company has not disclosed financial details of the deal, which is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2024.
