UN's Guterres: Lebanon must not become another Gaza

UN Secretary General António Guterres said on Tuesday at the opening of the General Debate of the UN General Assembly in New York that Lebanon must not "become another Gaza."

"The people of Lebanon – the people of Israel – and the people of the world - cannot afford Lebanon to become another Gaza," he said.

Guterres was speaking at the start of the annual weeklong debate at the UN's headquarters which brings together leaders from around the world.

The debate comes as fighting intensifies between Israel and the Lebanese Shiite Hezbollah militia, with the death toll rising above 550 in two days of Israeli airstrikes.

Then they shouldn’t have attacked Israel and ocean going vessels. I mean where is the outcry from the UN about Russia attacking Ukraine without provocation?
