Hezbollah said it launched 80 rockets at the Israeli city of Safed on Thursday.

The Iran-backed group also said it fired 50 rockets at the town of Ahihud, about 40 kilometres to the west of Safed, as well as military sites in northern Israel.

The Israeli military said a house in Rosh Pina, a town near Safed, was hit by a rocket. There were not believed to be any injuries.

Since Thursday morning, the Israeli army said that some 150 rockets had been launched from Lebanon, with some of the impacts reportedly causing fires to break out around Safed.

Israel kept up its attacks on Hezbollah in southern and eastern Lebanon. A strike also hit a building south of Beirut and killed Hezbollah's drone chief, the Israeli military said.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health said that dozens of people had died on Thursday in Israeli attacks.
