Tickets for 2025's Wacken heavy metal festival sell out in hours

Tickets for the next Wacken Open Air heavy metal music festival in July and August 2025 have already sold out, according to festival promoters on Monday.

The 85,000 tickets for the festival in the town of Wacken in northern Germany sold out in just four and a half hours. Previous editions of the festival have also sold out in just a few days or even hours.

"Metalheads, you are simply amazing!" said festival founder Thomas Jensen. "We are incredibly proud to be able to put on the most spectacular metal event for you all again next year!"

The first 34 bands for the 34th Wacken Open Air (July 30 to August 2, 2025) have already been confirmed. Among others, the French band Gojira, US rockers Papa Roach as well as Machine Head, Saltatio Mortis, Apocalyptica, Saxon and Michael Schenker are expected to perform.

Ticket prices remained stable at €333 ($373) in 2025. However, an extra €33 per vehicle will be charged in future, and €66 for larger vehicles such as motorhomes weighing 3.5 tons or more.

Wacken Open Air, which takes place in a village of just 2,000 inhabitants, is considered one of the biggest heavy metal festivals in the world.
