Dortmund's Adeyemi and Duranville sidelined for weeks

Borussia Dortmund's Champions League hat-trick hero Karim Adeyemi and Julian Duranville are sidelined for weeks with thigh muscle injuries, coach Nuri Sahin said on Friday.

Forward Adeyemi sustained the injury early in the second half of Tuesday's 7-1 triumph over Celtic, after scoring his hat-trick in the first half. Duranville was a substitute in that match.

"We expect them to be available again after the international break in November," Sahin told reporters ahead of Saturday's Bundesliga match at Union Berlin.

It is the latest setback for Adeyemi who had suffered similar injuries twice in the 2022-23 season.

Sahin said that Giovanni Reyna will remain sidelined for a longer period due to a setback in his rehabilitation from a groin problem.

Forward Donyell Malen could meanwhile return into the squad against Union after overcoming an illness.
