Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany sees no reason to change his game plan after recent setbacks and will continue to accept defensive risks with high pressing in Sunday's Bundesliga table topper at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Bayern's perfect start into the season ended after six victories when they were first held 1-1 by champions Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga a week ago, and then lost 1-0 at Aston Villa in the Champions League.

Kompany told reporters that his team will play in the same way against Frankfurt, who are one point behind them in second place and have won their last four league matches.

"The way we play is quite pragmatic for me. It's about us getting good results. That's also our goal for the next game," he said.

"It has nothing to do with style but with what I see how we can be successful with the players and the squad that we have."

"After every game, whether you win or lose, all that counts is the next game. We can take a lot with us into the next game. That needs to be the foundation for doing well in the next game."

Bayern have not lost in 17 table toppers since 2015 but have suffered several defeats lately in Frankfurt, including 5-1 humiliations in 2019 annd 2023.

"We're aware of the results in Frankfurt in recent years. The stakes are high there. In terms of intensity, it'll be similar to against Aston Villa. If we perform to our maximum, we'll win. That's the goal," board member for sport Max Eberl said.

Bayer will be without influential attacking midfielder Jamal Musiala who is out for the time being with a hip problem which also sidelines him for Germany's upcoming Nations League matches.

"We all know how good and important Jamal is for Bayern and Germany. Our priority is that he's fit and stays fit," Kompany said.
