Police called after couple steals roast pork from balcony in Germany

A woman called the police in southern Germany after her neighbours stole a roast pork from her balcony on Sunday evening, police said.

The woman had watched the couple take the vacuum-packed meat from her balcony in the town of Mittenwald, in the Bavarian Alps.

When they arrived at the apartment building, the police caught the two thieves preparing part of the roast pork in their kitchen.

The rest of the meat was returned to its owner, who the police described as shocked. The investigators estimated the damage at around €25 ($27.50) and the couple now faces a theft investigation.
