After Hurricane Milton hit the US state of Florida, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump linked the natural disaster to his political agenda.

"We feel so sorry for you, and we want God to be with you, and we know God is with you," Trump said in a video posted on X on Thursday.

The former president spoke of the strength of the people of Florida, praised Governor Ron DeSantis and hinted that help "like never before" would come under his leadership.

"Hopefully, on January 20, you're going to have somebody that's really going to help you and help you like never before, because help is on the way," Trump said, referring to the outcome of the presidential election on November 5, in which he is competing against Democrat and current Vice President Kamala Harris.

The inauguration of the next president is due to take place on January 20.

Harris and US President Joe Biden had previously criticized Trump sharply, accusing him of deliberately spreading false information in the context of the disaster, which Biden called irresponsible.

Trump is using the disaster to undermine confidence in government relief efforts, while also trying to gain political advantage from people's fears, they said.

The billionaire Trump is going to give away 400 million for hurricane recovery. Trump is an angel on earth (let's see if Elon sends me some money for the propaganda).
