Pope Francis plans to publish his memoirs, titled "Hope," in January 2025, the Italian publishing house responsible for the book's release said on Wednesday.

The book was originally planned to be published after his death, but it will now be released in time for the Catholic Church's jubilee year in 2025.

According to the announcement, the Pope, who has been in office since 2013, worked on the autobiography for six years.

The publishing house quoted the Pope as saying: "The book of my life is the story of a journey of hope, a journey that I cannot separate from the journey of my family, of my people, of all God's people. In every page, in every passage, it is also the book of those who have travelled with me, of those who came before, of those who will follow."

Pope Francis has already worked on several books about his pontificate, including an autobiography titled "Life. My Story Through History," which was published in 2023.

The new book is to be published in more than 80 countries. The Italian publishing house Mondadori is coordinating its global release.

Jubilee years are usually celebrated every 25 years. Between 30 and 40 million visitors are expected in Rome for the jubilee year in 2025, which will begin with the opening of the Holy Door of Saint Peter's Basilica by Pope Francis on December 24, 2024.
